Cleaning windows may seem like a simple task, but doing it effectively can make a big difference in the appearance of your home. Here are some steps and tips for achieving clean and streak-free windows:

1. Gather Your Supplies - Glass cleaner or a DIY solution (vinegar and water or dish soap and water). Micro-fibre cloths or lint-free paper towels. Squeegee (for larger windows). Bucket. Sponge or soft cloth.

2. Choose the Right Time - Avoid cleaning windows in direct sunlight as the heat can cause the cleaning solution to dry quickly, leaving streaks. Opt for a cloudy day or start cleaning early in the morning or late in the evening.

3. Remove Dust and Debris - Use a dry micro-fibre cloth or dusting brush to remove dirt, dust, and cobwebs from the window frame and sill.

4. Prepare the Cleaning Solution - Mix your chosen glass cleaner or DIY solution in a bucket according to the product instructions or with a 50/50 ratio of water to vinegar or dish soap.

5. Start Cleaning - Dip a sponge or soft cloth into the cleaning solution and wring out excess water. Wipe the window in a zigzag motion to cover the entire surface. For stubborn spots or sticky residues, let the solution sit for a few minutes before wiping.

6. Squeegee Technique - For larger windows, use a squeegee to remove the cleaning solution. Start at the top corner of the window and pull the squeegee straight down in a steady, overlapping motion. Wipe the squeegee blade with a clean cloth after each pass to avoid streaks.

7. Dry and Polish - Use a clean, dry micro-fibre cloth or lint-free paper towel to dry the edges and corners of the window. Polish the glass with a dry cloth in a circular motion to remove any remaining streaks.

8. Focus on Details - Wipe the window frame and sill with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or cleaning residue. Check for streaks or smudges and touch up as needed.

9. Maintain Regularly - Clean windows seasonally or as needed to keep them looking their best. Dust window blinds or curtains regularly to reduce build-up on the windows.
